B3 Presents True Believer and The Last Castrato, a double bill of solo shows that examine the experience of being an outsider, and how identity creates reality.

True Believer by Ilana Lydia introduces a formerly homeless woman who claims to be doing work for the "gray aliens." Bright and agile, Maria Santiago Ionesco describes the jobs that the grays have her do, and tries to convince a man on the street into becoming the next initiate of the brotherhood. Is she a classic paranoid schizophrenic, or is there something to what she claims is the truth? This disturbing - and funny - piece will have audiences questioning reality.

The Last Castrato by Andrew Eninger is the story of Joseph, a man born without genitals, who twists his life to accommodate other's ideas of whom he should be. Placed in a school for "gifted" children, Joseph finds that his unique physiology doesn't bless him with any artistic gifts. He befriends a girl whose disability keeps her encased in box, and their conditions allow them to help each other stay out of the freak show circuit - but at what price? This powerful drama about worth and identity is riveting throughout.

The Last Castrato stars B3 founder Franc Gaxiola. True Believer stars Kim Lavelle.

Performances are November 10, 11, 17, and 18 at 8PM and are at The SIC Sense Theatre, 1902 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, 85006. Tickets are $10 ahead of time, or $15 at the door. Purchase tickets at www.b3productions.brownpapertickets.com.
