Arizona Broadway Theatre will present the Arizona regional premiere of The Bridges of Madison County April 13-May 13, 2018.
Based on one of the bestselling books of the 20th century (and later adapted into the 1995 feature film starring Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood), The Bridges of Madison Countyfeatures a Tony Award-winning score by Jason Robert Brown. Experience this timeless tale of yearning and desire set in America's heartland. One of the most romantic stories of our time, this powerful Broadway musical is an unforgettable love story of two soulmates caught between "what is" versus "what could have been."
Cassandra Klaphake, co-founder and Artistic Producer of ABT, stars as Francesca, the Italian war bride caught between love of her family and the intriguing photographer passing through town. Co-starring as Robert, the dashing, world-weary photographer, will be Bryant Martin, making his ABT debut.
Returning ABT alums include Lyda Armistead & Callista Walker in the shared role of daughter Carolyn, Andy Meyers as husband Bud, Carolyn McPhee and Rob Watson as neighbors Marge and Charlie, and Ensemble members Renée Kathleen Koher, Melissa Mitchell, and Nick Kuhn. Making their ABT debut will be Davon Policci as son Michael, Kaitlin Lawrence as Robert's former wife Marian, and Ensemble members Chae Clearwood, Nick Miller, and Joe Ventricelli.
