Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT), Arizona's Leader in Musical Theatre and the Valley of the Sun's highest attended LIVE theatrical venue, today announced the formation of HyRev, a new program for Valley youth ages 13-19 who are strong, committed singers and dancers seeking to throw themselves into creating artistic work together. The new program will be headed-up by Valley performing arts due, and ABT alums, Mark and Lynzee Foreman
HyRev features two Elite Performance Troupes, Sonic Revolution and HypertoneZ. Recently, close to one-hundred Valley youths auditioned for the much-coveted spots as part of this inaugural year of HyRev. Seventy-eight auditioners were called back, and sixty-one talented youth performers will comprise the two performance troupes in 2018-2019.
Rehearsing in ABT's newly expanded Encore Room, members of the two troupes will perform at ABT's After Dark Cabarets (held on select Fridays during Mainstage productions), winter and spring concerts, and will be eligible to audition for a fully produced Mainstage takeover of ABT's Guys and Dolls in 2019. Future plans include entertaining and competing throughout the area as well as out of state.
"The launch of this new program has been something we've hoped to bring to the West Valley for some time," said Brad York, ABT's director of marketing. "Rehearsal and performance space for the troupes had always been the restrictive element over the years; however, now, with the newly renovated 6,000 sqft Encore Room space, we have more than enough room to let these talented young performers take over and shine! We're very much looking forward to seeing this program grow in the years to come!"
Membership spots for the 2018-2019 HyperToneZ and SonicRevolution troupes have been filled. Information on future auditions will be posted on Facebook (@ArizonaBroadway) and online at http://azbroadway.org/about-us/employment-auditions-internships.
