Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) has put together a terrific New Year's Eve package that includes a choice of delicious dinner entrees at Arizona Center's Canyon Café and 1130 The Restaurant, tickets to Off-Broadway's zany musical comedy whodunit, Murder for Two, and a pre-show champagne-and chocolate reception at the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, from 6:30 to 7:30. The curtain goes up at 7:30.
New Year's Eve dinner packages are $99, $107 and $115 and are only available through the Arizona Theatre Company Box Office by calling (602) 256-6995.
Patrons interested only in seeing the show can purchase tickets online (www.arizonatheatre.org) or through the box office at (602) 256-6995). All ticket holders are invited to the champagne-and-chocolate reception. Tickets for the show-only also will be available at the door beginning an hour before curtain time.
Patrons selecting the dinner packages are advised to call the restaurant to make a reservation.
Dinner choice are: Canyon Café: Applewood Smoked Pecan Salmon, Adovo Chicken Pasta or Chile-Rubbed Sirloin and dinners come with the Pueblo House Salad;
1130 The Restaurant: BBQ Salmon, Top Sirloin (10 ounce), Salmon & Steak Skewers or Smothered Chicken Breast.
After dinner, enjoy the show that the New York Times called "Ingenious! A snazzy double-act that spins out a comic mystery animated by funny, deftly turned songs."
Murder for Two channels composer Joe Kinosian and lyricist Kellen Blair's love for both Agatha Christie and the Marx Brothers into a zany 90-minute blend of classical musical comedy and madcap mystery with killer laughs and two performers playing 13 roles - and the piano.
Directed by Scott Schwartz, Kinosian (The Suspects) and Ian Lowe (Marcus) from the off-Broadway production make their Arizona Theatre Company debuts in Murder for Two.
ATC follows Murder for Two with the world premiere of Five Presidents, Jan. 10-31; Romeo and Juliet, Feb. 28 to March 21; and A Weekend with Pablo Picasso, April 4-26.
