ASU Gammage Continues Performances for Students Series

ASU Gammage continues its cultural tradition of the Performances for Students series. Students statewide can experience a variety of world cultures and remarkable artists through one-hour performances. Performances are $3 per student, teacher and chaperone. Come join us for an unmatched global cultural experience for students.

ASU Gammage is excited to continue its successful bus scholarship program to help fund school field trips to ASU Gammage's Performances for Students. Scholarships will be awarded to statewide Title 1 schools and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The bus scholarships are made possible through the generosity of Scottsdale Insurance/Nationwide Foundation. Dance Theatre of Harlem

ASU Gammage is proud welcome back Dance Theatre of Harlem, an iconic American ballet troupe based in New York City. Shortly after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. the Dance Theatre of Harlem was founded based on the goals to start a school, in Harlem, in which students could learn about dance and other art forms arts. In addition to the encompassing performance group and education center, Dance Theatre of Harlem also has a national and international education and community outreach program, Dancing Through Barriers. Each piece commits to bringing the arts to the lives of adults and children alike. Dance Theater of Harlem is an unparalleled institution in the world of dance not only in this country, but around the world.

JazzReach

Back by popular demand, JazzReach returns to ASU Gammage. No other group makes the Jazz experience more exciting, educational and fun for students than JazzReach. Established in 1994, JazzReach is a nationally recognized not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, performance, creation and teaching of jazz music. JazzReach is steadfastly dedicated to fostering a greater appreciation, awareness and understanding of this rich, vital, ever-evolving American art form.

Ang Li

Ang Li, an official Steinway artist, is an internationally acclaimed piano virtuoso whose performance credits and talents reach well beyond her years. She has played at the most famous concert halls in the world including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. What makes Ang Li even more special is her love of sharing her music with students in interesting and fun ways that opens the door to classical music for those not familiar with it and expands the horizons of this special artform for students who already enjoy it.

Run Boy Run

Bluegrass is an exciting, fun and uniquely American music that claims its roots from several sources including Scottish, Irish and Welsh musical traditions, as well as later African American, Country Western and Appalachian folk music influences. Run Boy Run is one of the Southwest's premiere Bluegrass groups with a young and innovative take on this American musical favorite.
