$150,000 Grant Awarded To Theater Works From Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust

Theater Works is proud to announce that they are the recipients of a $150,000 grant from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust. This grant will allow Theater Works to research and establish a costume/prop and set piece storage and rental shop. For the first five months Theater Works will receive $48,000 to begin the planning phase. Once the planning phase is complete and Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust reviews the research Theater Works will receive $108,000 for the new facility's implementation phase. This new facility will allow Theater Works to save money by storing and reusing costumes and props, as well as, increase revenue by renting costumes and props to theaters nationwide. The funds from the rental shop will then be used to further our youth programming and community outreach programs.

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust is a private independent foundation honoring the philanthropic legacy of Virginia Galvin Piper to enhance and strengthen the quality of life for the people in Maricopa County (Arizona) through support of Arts and Culture, Children, Education, Healthcare and Medical Research, Older Adults and Religious Organizations. By investing in nonprofits and encouraging strategic planning for the future, the Trust strives to make Maricopa County a stronger, healthier and more livable community.

Theater Works extends their gratitude to the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust for generous support of the non-profit theater. With this grant Theater Works will be store their costumes and sets and be self sufficient with their new rental facility. This will allow the theater to continue their community outreach programs and youth programming.
