In celebration of its 16th founding anniversary, Teatro Marikeño will restage “Ang Paglilitis Ni Mang Serapio,” written by Filipino playwright Paul Dumol, on September 24 (Sunday), September 30 (Saturday), and October 1 (Sunday) at theater group’s studio (325 F. Manalo St., Balanti, San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal) at 7 p.m.
The play follows the story of an old beggar, Mang Serapio, who carries around a doll and uses it to attract more attention, hence more alms. Once the authorities are alerted on Mang Serapio’s modus operandi, he appears in a mock trial, which would eventually lead to a bloody outcome.
