Manila, Philippines--Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila have jointly announced that the presale tickets--at 10 to 20 percent off-- to the international touring productions of Broadway classics "West Side Story," premiering August 10, and "The Sound of Music," premiering September 27, will go on sale on TicketWorld.com.ph Monday, March 6. Both productions will play The Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City, where the blockbuster musical "Wicked" is currently running.

"West Side Story" is the Michael Brenner production, produced by BB Promotion GmbH in association with Sundance Productions Inc. NY, Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, and David Atkins Enterprises.

On the other hand, "The Sound of Music" is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group and David Ian Productions, and is presented in Manila via Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and David Atkins Enterprises.

"West Side Story," featuring music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, is William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet transported to 20th-century New York City, where two love-struck teens, Tony and Maria, find themselves caught between two warring street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks.

The touring production boasts an outstanding American cast who will bring to life popular musical numbers such as "Maria," "Tonight," "Somewhere," "America," and "I Feel Pretty." Musical supervisor Donald Chan will conduct a 20-piece orchestra.

Meanwhile, "The Sound of Music" features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, inspired by the story of The Trapp Family Singers. The show's well-loved musical numbers include "My Favorite Things,""Edelweiss," "Do-Re-Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," "The Lonely Goatherd," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," and the title song "The Sound of Music."
