Stephanie Reese, Kim in MS. SAIGON Germany, will hold a Pre-Carnegie Hall concert dubbed I AM Stephanie Reese on October 2, 2009, Friday, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum, Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills Shopping Complex, San Juan, Manila.

Audie Gemora (The Sound of Music, Man of La Mancha), who is set to portray Benjamin Barker/Sweeney Todd in Repertory Philippines’ upcoming production of SWEENEY TODD, is her featured guest.

I AM Stephanie Reese was first performed to a sold out audience at the Teatrino Theater in Manila last May 2009.

Music critics raved about Stephanie’s Manila performance as “highly versatile, fascinating singer-actress who startled and stunned.”  “Stephanie was a revelation… She sang each number with the intensity of a 100-meter dash,” said another.

Her solo debut in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall on November 7, 2009 is yet another milestone in her luminous career, which began in the theatre by starring in MISS SAIGON (Germany), Disney’s HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (Germany), KING AND I (London) and MASTER CLASS (Los Angeles).

Stephanie’s performance at the prestigious venue bestows honor on her as the first Filipino-American solo vocalist to be performing at the Carnegie Hall.  Filipino pop singer Regine Velasquez and Broadway star Lea Salonga also performed in same concert venue in 1991 and 2005 respectively.

“I was a small girl singing in a choir when I first performed at the Carnegie. To be able to star in my own show on the very same stage has been my childhood dream,” recalled Stephanie.

“The Pre-Carnegie concert at the Music Museum will feature around 50 percent of my act in New York.  I’m performing a diverse selection of songs that reflects my exposure to music from around the world. I’d be honored to share this evening with you.”

Apart from Gemora, she has Argentinean dance sensation Sergio Viglini as guest.  Glen Lemen is her musical director.

Stephanie, who is Los Angeles-based and managed by STAGES in the Philippines, has earned the moniker STANDING OVATION QUEEN from fans, industry insiders and celebrities in the U.S. She performs like Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Sarah Brightman combined with her diverse repertoire of Broadway, opera, ballads, pop, kundiman and even hip-hop.

She has so far released two albums – THE VOICE and Stephanie Reese AT HER BEST. She will be releasing a new album, containing some original songs, in time for her concert in Manila.

Stephanie studied opera at the Indiana University and at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for Musical Theatre.  She was a dedicated voice student of the late Eileen Manzin.
