Manila, Philippines, October 14, 2012 - The star-studded cast of the long-awaited revival of original Filipino landmark musical "Katy!," featuring Isay Alvarez, Dulce, Tirso Cruz III, Epy Quizon, Gian Magdangal, and Tricia Amper Jimenez, among others, presented excerpts from the show at the SM Malls' The Podium in Ortigas Center, Quezon City in the early evening, today.

BroadwayWorld videographer Jeffrey Aguiman shares his videos of musical numbers "Ang Entablado ay Mundo, Ang Mundo ay Entablado, " (Alvarez as Katy and Company), "Basta't Magsasayaw" (Alvarez as Katy, Quizon as Golay [iconic comedian Dolphy's first stage name], and Company), and "Minsan ang Minahal ay Ako" (Dulce as the fading vaudeville star Olivia, Alvarez as Katy, and Company) performed during the preview. Featuring the toe-topping, infectious, and melodious music by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, and the high-spirited fun, heart-pulling book and lyrics by Jose Javier Reyes, "Katy!" joyously brings back its audience to the vaudeville era at around the beginning of the American occupation of the Philippines, where Katy dela Cruz, the foremost diva of the vaudeville stage shone brightest.

Robert Sena, Carl Balita, Alvarez, and Jimenez's Spotlight Artists Centre produces this incarnation of one of the best-written original Filipino musicals.

Directed by Nestor U. Torre, the original production of "Katy!" premiered in Manila in 1989. Torre is back at the helm of the new production of "Katy!," which runs at the Cultural Center of the Philippines' Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino on Thursday, January 17 to Sunday, January 27, 2013.
