Manila, Philippines--Resorts World Manila (RWM), together with Full House Theater Company Inc. and Ultimate Shows Inc., premieres its ninth musical theater production, ANG HULING EL BIMBO, featuring over 20 songs by the iconic Original Pilipino Music (OPM) rock band Eraserheads, this Friday, July 20, at Newport Performing Arts Theater (L2 Newport Mall, Newport Blvd., Pasay City).

The show's creative team is composed of some of the most notable names in Philippine theater today: Dingdong Novenario, playwright ("Kafatiran," "Daddy's Girl"); Myke Salomon, musical director ("Rak of Aegis" "Three Stars And A Sun,", and Dexter Santos, director and choreographer ("Orosman at Zafira," "Maxie The Musicale").

The musical follows the story of three childhood friends who would go their separate ways in adulthood until fate reunites them to confront their troubled past.

Resorts World Manila's ANG HULING EL BIMBO Premieres This Friday, 7/20 ImageThe show stars prominent thespians Gian Magdangal ("Newsies," "The Wedding Singer"), Jon Santos ("Priscilla, Queen of the Desert," "Rak of Aegis"), OJ Mariano ("Rent," "Rak of Aegis"), Reb Atadero ("Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "Annie"), Topper Fabregas ("Hair," "The Producers"), Sheila Francisco ("South Pacific," "Forbidden City"), and Tanya Manalang ("Miss Saigon," "Rak of Aegis").

"It may not be your conventional 'razzle-dazzle' musical theater, and I think that's what makes it more exciting. After you come out of the theatre, you begin to think about it and that's when it really works," says Novenario in a statement.

"We're trying to push Philippine theater further into the mainstream with ANG HULING EL BIMBO," adds Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, artistic director at Full House Theater Company. "With an original Pinoy script told through Filipino songs that really meant a lot to generations, this musical is very relatable to all those who have experienced profound friendships in their youth and learned so much from it."
