Repertory Philippines Holds Male Auditions for LITTLE WOMEN 4/10

Repertory Philippines' year-end production is the Broadway musical "Little Women," based on Louisa May Alcott's 1867 semi-biographical novel of the same title. "Little Women," the musical, features music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and book by Allan Knee

The musical follows the life story of the March family: sisters Jo, Meg, Amy, Beth and mother Marmee. When the family patriarch had to serve in the army during the Civil War, the girls are left alone with their loving mother.

Repertory Philippines is looking for actors and singers to fill principal and supporting roles:

1.  Jo (female; high belt; 18 to late 20's) - A passionate young writer. The musical's story centers on her.

2.  Laurie (Theodore Laurence III; male; tenor; 18 to late 20's) - A shy and often awkward boy-next-door.

3.  Meg (female; soprano/belt; 18 to late 20's)- The eldest of the March sisters.

4.  Amy (female; soprano/belt; 16 to late 20's) - The youngest of the March sisters.

5.  Beth (female; soprano/belt; 16 to late 20's) - The second youngest of the March sisters. She is the peacemaker in the family.

6.  Marmee (female; alto; 40's) - The strong mother.

7.  Mr. John Brook (male; baritone; 20 to early 30's)- Laurie's exceptionally bright tutor.

8.  Mr. Laurence (male; character singing; 50 to 60)- Laurie's well off grandfather.

9.  Professor Bhaer (male; baritone; 30's) - a middle-aged man who falls in love with Jo.

10.  Aunt March (female; high alto; 50 to 60) - An old rich woman who is the Matriarch of the Marches.

Auditions for the female roles were Sunday, March 28, 2010, 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Repertory Philippines' office at C2-A, Building C, 2316, Karrivin Plaza, Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City.

On the other hand, auditions for the male roles are set on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., also at the Repertory Philippines' office.
