Manila, Philippines, April 30, 2013 -- BroadwayWorld.com (BWW) caught the second Friday night, April 26, performance of Terrence McNally and David Yazbek's hit Broadway musical "The Full Monty," locally produced by Viva Atlantis Theatricals, an offshoot of prolific theater company Atlantis Productions.
Mark Bautista, a Viva Artists Agency contract star, whom we sat down with for an interview -- up next on BWW -- headlines the star-studded production, directed by theater veteran Chari Arespacochaga.
In "The Full Monty," whose stage version is adapted from 1997 film of the same name, Bautista plays Jerry Lukowski, one of the six unemployed steel workers from Buffalo, New York, who puts on a strip act that could rival the more famous touring dance troupe Chippendales.
Bautista's partners in crime are Jamie Wilson as Dave Bukatinsky, Jerry's best friend; OJ Mariano as Malcolm MacGregor, a lonely security guard; Arnell Ignacio as Harold Nichols, their former foreman; Marco Sison as Noah "Horse" Simmons, an auditionee; and Nino Alejandro as Ethan Girard, another aspirant.
Ima Castro, Jay Valencia-Glorioso, Sitti Navarro, Ciara Sotto, Steven Conde, Ralion Alonso, Altair Alonso, and Hans Eckstein complete the cast.
