Photo Flash: Performances from WILLIAM, NOLI ME TANGERE, CARE DIVAS & PETER PAN at Philstage Gawad Buhay!

Manila, Philippines, July 4, 2012 – Live performances from Philippine Educational Theater Association's (PETA) "William," "Care Divas," Tanghalang Pilipino's (TP) "Noli Me Tangere," and Repertory Philippines' (Rep) "Peter Pan" beefed up the 2011 Philstage Gawad Buhay!, line produced by theater advocates Audie Gemora and Alvin Trono's Stages Production Specialists Inc., at the Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) main lobby on Sunday.

The Philippine Legitimate Stage Artists Group (Philstage) Gawad Buhay! is the country's first-ever industry awards exclusively for the performing arts, juried by an independent panel of critics, scholars, reviewers, and artists.  In order to be eligible for the award, a performing arts company must be affiliated with Philstage; its members include Ballet Manila, Ballet Philippines, Gantimpala Theater, Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), PETA, Rep, TP, and Triumphant People's Evangelistic Theater Society (Trumpets).

Philstage's Lifetime Achievement Awards (2011 Natatanging Gawad Buhay!) were given to Rep's artistic director Baby Barredo, premier danseur Nonoy Froilan, playwrights Rene Villanueva and Charley Dela Paz, and choreographer Tony Fabella.
