Manila, Philippines, April 10, 2013 -- Erik Santos, ABS CBN talent and star of the Asian premiere of Disney's "The Little Mermaid," has received his Best Crossover Artist (Mainstream to Theater) Award at the 2012 BroadwayWorld (BWW) Philippines Awards via the live musical variety show "ASAP 18."

He bested four other nominees in the said category, which included Rachelle Ann Go, his co-star in "The Little Mermaid" (Atlantis Productions), Edgar Allan Guzman for "Bona" (Philippine Educational Theater Association), Vina Morales for "Rock of Ages" (Atlantis Productions), and Nadine Samonte for "The Seagull" (Dulaang UP).

Santos, whose real name is Rhoderick Ramos Santos, is a singer, actor, TV host, commercial model, and the First Grand Champion of ABS CBN's singing competition "Star In A Million" in 2003. His debut album, "This is the Moment," was released in 2004; it went triple platinum.

Now in his 10th year in show business, Santos is known as the Philippines' Prince of Pop; and has successfully established himself as one of the country's top balladeers. He has been a favorite performing artist in concerts and in recording projects for TV and movie theme songs -- he has recorded more than 30 theme songs as of this writing.

Besides BWW Awards, he has also been recognized by almost all of local show biz's top award-giving bodies, including the Awit Awards, Star Awards, MYX Awards, and Aliw Awards. "Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka," his recent hit song, is named Song of the Year at both 101.9 OPM Awards and Star Awards for Music.

Santos is a contract artist of Cornerstone Events and Talent Management, where he joins some of the biggest stars in Philippine Entertainment, including Maricar Reyes, Sam Milby, Slater Young, Kit Thompson, Markki Stroem, and Yeng Constantino.
