Gracing the Manila concert scene anew with his impressive musicianship and palpable charisma, Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti held a one-night only concert at Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila – presented by RadioHigh 105.9 FM – last week.
Botti's sold-out concert boasted beauty, melancholy, and lyricism – a night filled with consummate artistry.
"Warm, enthusiastic, it's really hard to compare," Botti thought of the Filipino concert audience.
The Young Musician Development Organization (YMDO), which exists to hone young Filipino musicians, was the concert's beneficiary.
A day before the show, the world renowned trumpeter conducted a master class, and coached the youthful, aspiring talents of YMDO. Botti even invited John Philip Santa Ana, an 11-year-old prodigy, to perform with him at the concert.
