Manila, Philippines, January 25, 2013 -- Repertory Philippines (Rep) opened its 76th theater season with 2008 Tony Award-winning comedy "Boeing-Boeing," originally written in French by Marc Camoletti, which in turn was translated into English by Beverley Cross and Francis Evans, last night at Onstage Theatre in Makati City.
BroadwayWorld PH photographer Jory Rivera was at the press preview on Thursday night, and took below's production photos, which feature Miguel Faustmann's set design, Raven Ong's costume design, and John Batalla's lighting design.
"Boeing-Boeing" was first staged at Apollo Theatre in London in 1962, which later transferred to Duchess Theatre. On Broadway, the play premiered at Cort Theatre in 1965, where it played 23 performances.
The play received revival productions at Comedy Theatre in London in 2007, and at Longacre Theatre on Broadway in 2008.
Rep's cast for "Boeing-Boeing" include David Bianco as the handsome, dashing playboy Bernard; Giannina Ocampo as the sentimental Italian flight attendant Gabriella; Carla Dunareanu as the aggressive German flight attendant Gretchen; Jennifer Blair-Bianco as the confident Southern belle Gloria; Topper Fabregas as Bernard's best friend from Wisconsin; and Baby Barredo as Bernard's reluctant housekeeper Bertha (Joy Virata is Barredo's alternate).
Rep's "Boeing-Boeing" runs until Sunday, February 17.
