Manila, Philippines--Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), presents Arthur Miller's classic play DEATH OF SALESMAN ("Pahimakas Ng Isang Ahente"), translated into Filipino by National Artist for Theater and Literature Rolando Tinio, at Tanghalang Huseng Batute (Studio Theater) until Sunday, October 19.

DEATH OF A SALESMAN's original Broadway production opened at Morosco Theatre in February 1949; the production won the Tony Awards for Best Play; Best Featured Actor in a Play for Arthur Kennedy; Best Scenic Design for Jo Mielziner; Best Author for Miller; and Best Director for Elia Kazan. On the same year, the play also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play.
Additionally, the play has already enjoyed four Broadway revivals: (1) the revival production at Circle in the Square Theatre in 1975, which starred George C. Scott as Willy Loman; (2) the Tony Award-winning revival production at Broadhurst Theatre in 1984, which starred Dustin Hoffman as Willy Loman; (3) the Tony Award-winning revival production at Eugene O'Neill Theatre in 1999, which starred Brian Dennehy as Willy Loman; and lastly, (4) the Tony Award-winning revival production at Ethel Barrymore Theatre in 2012, which starred Philip Seymour Hoffman as Willy Loman and Andrew Garfield as Biff Loman, his Broadway debut.
