Manila, Philippines, August 15, 2012 - Award-winning film actors Eugene Domingo ("The Woman In the Septic Tank") and Edgar Allan Guzman ("Ligo Na, Lapit Na Me"), who are currently in the thick of rehearsals for Philippine Educational Theater Association's (PETA) new production of "Bona," a stage adaptation of the critically-acclaimed motion picture of the same name, directed by the late Filipino film auteur Lino Brocka, met members of the press and performed excerpts from the play on Tuesday, August 14 at PETA Theater Center.
BroadwayWorld photographer Jory Rivera took pictures at the event. See his photos below!
"Bona (Domingo) is a call center agent and an avid fan of Gino Sanchez (Guzman), a contestant in the talent search 'Star of Tomorrow.' Blinded by her obsession on Gino, Bona turns her back on everything she values and gives up nearly everything she has. Caught in a quicksand of worship, passion, and pity, Bona proves how obsession may overpower love, and may even lead to a person's demise," says the production notes.
Directed by Soxie Topacio, Domingo and Guzman will be joined by Phil Noble, Joey Paras, Jeff Henson-Dee, She Maala, Olive Nieto, Dudz Teraña, Junevir Tabor, Juliene Mendoza, Raffy Tejada, Jason Barcial, BJ Forbes, Anna Luna, and Gabs Santos.
"Bona" will run from Friday, August 24 until Sunday, September 23 at PETA Theater Center.
