Local and U.S. concerts for Philippine typhoon victims have been pouring in since typhoons "Ondoy" and "Pepeng" displaced thousands of Filipinos a few months back. 

New York-based Filipino and Filipino-American theatre performers held their own benefit aptly titled BROADWAY BARKADA PRESENTS BALIKBAYAN BENEFIT last Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Philippine Center at 556 Fifth Avenue. 

The benefit was topbilled by Paolo Montalban, Enrico Rodriguez, Alan Ariano, Joanne Javien, Marc de la Cruz, Olivia Oguma, and Pan Asian Repertory's IMELDA, a new musical cast members: Jaygee Macapugay, Liz Casasola, Mel Sagrado Maghuyop, among others.

Billy Bustamante, who was also part of IMELDA, directed the show.  Devin Llaw was musical director.

Broadway Barkada (Broadway Friends) has partnered with the Ayala Foundation USA in managing the benefit's proceeds.
