'One Night Stand' Gathers Original Cast of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

Manila, Philippines--"One Night Stand," a monthly cabaret series, which has been packing in the crowds at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in Makati City since April 2015, reunites the original cast of the 2007 Philippine production of Disney's "High School Musical" (HSM), led by Sam Concepcion, Cheska Ortega, Alex Godinez, and Kakki Teodoro, this Tuesday, July 5, at 9 p.m.

Conceptualized and produced by Joaquin Valdes, Mica Pineda, and Chinie Concepcion, who co-choreographed the local staging of HSM, "One Night Stand" showcases outstanding Filipino musical theater performers that get up on stage as themselves--not playing a role--in a thematic series featuring songs from Broadway and original Filipino musicals.
A record-breaking, chart-topping pop culture phenomenon, HSM is based on the 2006 Disney Channel original movie. Written by Peter Barsocchini, its stage version features the hit songs "We're All in This Together," "Bop to The Top," "Start of Something New," and "Get'cha Head in The Game." It follows the story of two teenagers: Troy Bolton (Sam Concepcion), popular captain of the basketball team at East High School, and Gabriella Montez (Cheska Ortega), a new transfer student and science genius, who go against the grain and resist peer pressure to follow their dreams and star in East High School's big talent show.
This Tuesday night, Audie Gemora directs "One Night Stand's" HSM 10th anniversary reunion special. Under the musical direction by Ceejay Javier, Kevin Concepcion, Jim Ferrer, Hanna Flores, Anna Oposa, Jay Pangilinan, Edrei Tan, Nel Gomez, and Gab Pangilinan are set to join Concepcion, Ortega, Godinez, and Teodoro on stage.
