Manila, Philippines--Australian actors Kerrie Anne Greenland (Eponine), Chris Durling (Enjolras), and Emily Langridge (Cosette) will join previously announced cast members Simon Gleeson (Jean Valjean), Earl Carpenter (Javert), and Rachelle Ann Go (Fantine) when the new Asian Tour of the newly reimagined LES MISERABLES (LES MIS) kicks off at The Theatre at Solaire (1 Aseana Ave. Entertainment City, Paranaque City) in March 2016. Visit TicketWorld.com.ph to buy tickets.

LES MIS' newly reimagined production plays Manila for the very first time. Seen by 70 million people worldwide in 43 countries and in 22 languages, LES MIS, written by Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated writing team of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, is one of the world's most popular musicals. Its worldwide gross is currently pegged at $2.5 billion.

Its recent musical film adaptation, co-produced by its theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh and Working Title Films, grossed more than $450 million. It won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture (Musical/Comedy) and won three Academy Awards, including Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Anne Hathaway, who played Fantine), Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell) and Best Sound Mixing (Andy Nelson, Mark Paterson, and Simon Hayes).

Additionally, the film's soundtrack, an essential addition to LES MIS' previous 47 cast recordings, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and has sold more than two million copies worldwide. Popular songs from the musical include "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Stars," "Bring Him Home," "Do Your Hear the People Sing?", "One Day More," "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables," and "Master of the House."

LES MIS, which celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this month, originally opened at the Barbican Theatre in London's West End on October 8, 1985. In less than two months, it transferred to the Palace Theatre, where it played for 19 years before moving to its current home in London, The Queen's Theatre, on April 3, 2004. In late 2006, the show became the longest-running musical in the West End, which surpassed the record previously held by Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats."

LES MIS has music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, original adaption by Trevor Nunn and John Caird, and additional material by James Fenton. Original orchestrations are by John Cameron, with new orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke, Stephen Metcalfe, and Stephen Brooker.

This new production is directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell, with set and image design by Matt Kinley--inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, costumes by Andreane Neofitou and Christine Rowland, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Mick Potter, and projections by Fifty-Nine Productions. Musical staging is by Michael Ashcroft and Geoffrey Garratt. Musical supervision is by Stephen Brooker, and musical direction by James Lowe.
