Last Call For PETER PAN Auditions, 1/29

Repertory Philippines ("Joy Luck Club", "Little Women"), the country's premier live theatre company, holds its last day of auditions for George Stiles and Anthony Drewe's musical adaptation of literary hero Peter Pan's tale in "Peter Pan" on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Repertory's  headquarters at  Unit 520 AIC Burgundy Empire Tower ADB corner Sapphire and Garnet Streets, Ortigas Center in Manila starting 3 p.m. 

This new local production of "Peter Pan" will star ABS-CBN teen actors Sam Concepcion (he plays Peter Pan) and Tippy Dos Santos (she plays Wendy Darling). "Peter Pan" will also mark Repertory Philippines' return to the Meralco Theatre, a bigger performance venue compared to the Onstage at Greenbelt 1 where most of the theatre group's plays and musicals have recently been mounted. 

For "Peter Pan", Repertory Philippines ties up with Stages Production Specialists Inc. ("Light in the Piazza", "West Side Story), an event Production Company co-owned by its president Audie Gemora, who is also a homegrown talent of Repertory Philippines. 

At the launch of the partnership agreement between the two live theatre/event companies, Repertory's new associate artistic director Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo (she replaces Ms. Joy Virata) and Stages' Audie Gemora have revealed to members of the press, including BroadwayWorld.com, and show buyers that "Peter Pan" will showcase high-flying stunts across the vast proscenium stage at the Meralco Theatre, and great and memorable music from the writing tandem of Stiles and Drewe ("Honk", "Mary Poppins").

Meantime, "Peter Pan" is in need of musical theatre talents to fill the following roles:

CAPTAIN HOOK: from 40 up; must learn the song WHEN I KILL PETER PAN

MRS. DARLING: from 40 up; must learn the song JUST BEYOND THE STARS

John Darling: from 12 to 15 years old; must learn the song NEVERLAND

WENDY DARLING from 16 to 21 years old, soprano; must learn the song JUST BEYOND THE STARS REPRISE (because it has a different ending)

MICHAEL DARLING: from 8 to 12 years old, must learn the song NEVERLAND

LOST BOYS: from 15 to 25 years old; must learn the song THE LOST BOYS GANG

Additional requirements: a resume and picture, and prepare any show tune. No pop songs allowed.  *Audition materials are available at Repertory's office.

"Peter Pan" premieres at the Meralco Theatre on September 29, 2011.  Rehearsals will begin in July 2011.
