New York--Before I entered college at De La Salle University-Manila in 1991, I attended my first musical theater workshops with GANTIMPALA THEATER in Manila: the first one was with actor-director Roobak Valle, our workshop facilitator; we did an original musical titled "Dormitoryo: 24 Oras"; the second one was with Mr. Valle again (I was one of his assistant facilitators at that time); we did Don delos Reyes' "Bien Aligtad." Both musical theater workshops were so much fun. We--the participants--had withdrawal symptoms at the end of the summer.
Ergo, I'm encouraging you to take a bite of musical theater by enrolling at GANTIMPALA THEATER's summer workshops from Monday, April 21, until Saturday, May 24.
Children, 5 to 12 years old, should take "Children's Musical Theater"; classes will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Teens and adults, 13 and up, may choose between "Teens and Adults Musical Theater" (1 to 5 p.m., M to TH) and "Advanced Musical Theater" (6 to 9 p.m., M to TH).
The classes will be facilitated by seasoned singer, actor, and director Roeder Camanag, who was my batchmate at GANTIMPALA THEATER!
To enroll (tuition fee: PhP 6,000 only), visit GANTIMPALA THEATER's office at the former Rizal Park Library, along P. Burgos corner Ma. Orosa Sts., Luneta, Manila or call (632) 528-06-03 / 881-64-24 or text (63)921-528-6308 / 935-393-5485.
The workshops will be held in partnership with the National Parks Development Committee.
