"It's an instant classic worthy of repeated restagings for all generations of Filipinos to see…" – Interaksyon.com

Manila, Philippines, September 21, 2012 - Catch the third repeat of Philippine Opera Company's (POC) critically-acclaimed Filipino musical production billed as "Ang BAGONG HARANA" from Thursday, October 18 until Sunday, October 28 at 8 p.m., with matinee performances at 3:30 p.m. on October 20, 21, 27 and 28, at Carlos P. Romulo Theater, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

Originally conceived and directed by award-winning writer/director Floy Quintos ("St. Louis Loves Dem Filipinos," "Isang Panaginip na Fili"), "Ang BAGONG HARANA" still features its original repertoire, which includes the best works of noted Filipino composers with diverse music styles such as compositions by Nicanor Abelardo, Ryan Cayabyab, Willy Cruz, Francisco Santiago, Antonio Molina, Resti Umali, George Canseco, Ernani Cuenco, Levi Celerio, Jose Estrella, Constancio De Guzman, and Felipe de Leon, among others.

However this time a special treat awaits the audience: "An Ode to Mother Nature," a brand new suite made up of two Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs (further details undisclosed as of this writing), is added to the musical numbers.

"Over the past months, our country has been beset by calamities and disasters of magnifying proportions. And each of these comes a clarion call for Filipinos to open their hearts and minds by seriously helping in the various programs geared towards conserving Mother Nature before it's too late. It's quite a somber matter; but when expressed in music, it becomes very meaningful and heartwrenching," said Karla Gutierrez, POC's artistic and managing director.

"Ang BAGONG HARANA" stars theater actors and opera singers Karla Gutierrez, Aizel Prietos, Charley Magalit, Janine Santos, Marian Santiago, Arlynne Tecson, Lawrence Jatayna, Noel Rayos, Nazer Salcedo, Marvin Gayramon, and Al Gatmaitan with the special participation of seasoned folk dancers from the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group.
