Humble Materials presents an all-female adaptation of Erich M. Remarque's novel, exploring the experiences of women who are left behind during wartime. Co-directed by Jessica Noel and Monica Flory, this reinterpretation brings new female characters into the narrative, including the presence of Paul’s mother in the trenches and elsewhere, highlighting the impact of war beyond the battlefield. With original music composed by a collaborative team and choreography featuring performers such as Carolyn Breyer and Amy Henderson, this production re-examines the classic tale through a fresh lens. The show runs from September 19 to September 21 at the Philly PACK garage theatre in South Philadelphia.
