YLT Recognizes Excellence in Youth Theatre With Ceremony Held 8/22

York Little Theatre has created a new and exciting program for Central Pennsylvania youth theatre. "The Berties" is an awards program and ceremony geared towards recognizing excellence in York Little Theatre's rabbittransit children's series of productions. Acknowledging the outstanding work of young theatre artists and those who serve them will draw attention and recognition to not only the individual artists, but the value of nurturing youth-oriented theatre arts and the arts in general.

The Berties Awards ceremony will be held on August 22, at 8 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Nominees have been announced for the following categories:

Lead Actor: Deaven Brown, Michael Crone, Lyle Hieronymus, Josh Olewiler, Phil Rooney, Kirk Wisler

Lead Actress: Julie Defibo, Mary McCleary

Supporting Actor: Deaven Brown, Michael Crone, Dave Hamme, Charlie Heller, Phil Rooney, Dylan Stroman, Alec Sylvester

Supporting Actress: EmiLynn Barber, Deirdre Casey, Gabriel Casey, Joellen Flury, Brittne Giannone, Katy Newton, Morgan Rutter, Dimitra Skouras, Megan Sylvester, Heather Wallen

Director: Jesse Snyder, Catherine Howard, Craig Smith and Allison Weaver

Script: Julie Aiken, Eric Bradley Long, Michael Crone

Set Design: Jeff Pettyjohn, Amanda Jones and Mary McCleary

Light Design: John Dumpman and Melissa McCleary, April Moore, Becky Prough
