We Are the Seeds Philadelphia is a festive celebration that includes music, dance, storytelling, cultural sharing, and traditional Native foods. The first of its kind in Philadelphia, the event is produced by the team that organizes the renowned We Are the Seeds: Santa Fe festival every summer. The inaugural celebration will take place at Taller Puertorriqueño located at 2600 N 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19133, from 11a-4p. Tickets are $10 sliding scale donation and are available online at: https://wearetheseeds.ticketleap.com/philly2019.

The event will host approximately five Indigenous artists representing a diversity of cultures and regions. Artists include internationally known jewelry designer Tchin (www.tchindesigns.com) and contemporary painter, doll maker, and multi-media artist Dawn Spears (Narragansett/Choctaw).
The Seeds Stage includes performances by a Native American dance troupe, singer/songwriter/piano player Zachariah Julian (Jicarilla Apache), The Magic of Storytelling with Tchin (Narragansett descent), A Brief History of the Creator's Game: Lacrosse, 1000 Years in the Making with Avery Amaya (Comanche/Seminole descent), and cultural sharing with Cassie Rose Mitchell (Modoc/Klamath) and Herman Agoyo,II (Ohkay Owingeh), and short films curated by cinéSPEAK.
Seeds Philadelphia will feature a variety of interactive experiences for visitors including youth art and music workshops and an Indigenous foods sampling station.

We Are the Seeds is a nonprofit organization founded and led by a team of Indigenous women who are dedicated to educating the world about art and culture as it relates to understanding Indigenous people, the history of the United States, and who we all are as American people today. The organization produces cultural events that feature fine art, music, dance, fashion, literary, and culinary art.
