Uptown Express to Ring in New Year at Bob Egan's New Hope, 12/31

Bob Egan's New Hope will celebrate the new year with two performances by Jersey-Boys inspired, New York-based vocal group, Uptown Express, December 31. The group will perform shows at 7:30 and 11 pm. Both shows are dinner shows with seating at 6 and 9:30 pm.

Under the musical direction of James Followell, Uptown Express® has been delighting audiences with a repertoire culled from 80 years of amazing pop music, playing cabaret venues around New York City and beyond.

From Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer, to Elton John and Melissa Etheridge, the music of Uptown Express lifts the spirits, sets feet tapping, hands clapping, and imparts social messages of hope and tolerance wherever and whenever we perform. Uptown Express features Christopher Caswell, John DePalma, David Gurland and Brad Parks.

In 2008, the group released their first studio CD "WALK LIKE A MAN" to great critical acclaim, receiving the 2008 Best Vocal Group Recording award from Cabaret Hotline and a 2009 MAC nomination for Best Recording. In addition, Uptown Express won the 2009 Best Group Performance from Back Stage Bistro and a 2009 MAC nomination for Best Group Performance for their shows at The Metropolitan Room. The group recently celebrated the release of their second CD, TAKE YOU THERE."

At Bob Egan's on New Year's Eve, Uptown Express will perform at 7:30 pm and 11 pm. Dinner will begin at 6 pm for the first show and 9:30 for the second show. Show tickets for the early show are $40 and $50 for the late show. On New Year's Eve, patrons are required to purchase dinner. The $60, multi-course, prix fixe dinner includes a glass of champagne and tax, but not gratuity or bar. Show tickets are billed in advance. Dinner is required on New Year's Eve and will be billed at the table.
