Tiny Dynamite Productions today announced that the second season of 'a Play, a Pie and a Pint' will begin on March 6th 2012 at The Red Room of The Society Hill Playhouse. The season will run for four weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30pm. A new show will be produced each week and will be served up alongside a pie (slice of pizza) and a pint (or beverage of choice).

The first season of 'a Play, a Pie and a Pint' (October 2011) played to sell out audiences and critical acclaim at The Society Hill Playhouse and had an extended run in November at Fergies Pub in Sansom Street.

"It is such a novel way to attract people to the theatre that it makes you   wonder why no one ever did this before." (Sharon Geller, The Examiner)

The project was awarded a grant in the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation?s Knight Arts Challenge, a $9 million initiative funding innovative projects that inspire and enrich Philadelphia?s communities. The Knight Arts Challenge was announced in the fall of 2010 and ?a Play, a Pie and a Pint? was one of 36 projects awarded a grant from over 1700 applicants.

In season two Tiny Dynamite will once again be collaborating with local Philadelphia artists, directors and theatre companies. Playwrights are from the US, the UK and Philadelphia. Tickets are $15 and include a play, a pie and a pint.

"We want to make the experience of seeing a play convenient and fun, whilst at the same         time showcasing the incredible theatre talent the city has to offer. We hope to provide         exciting and previously unavailable opportunities for Philadelphia artists. At the same         time we hope to encourage people who might not normally go to the theatre to stop by    after work and enjoy a small part of this city?s amazing theatre experience," says Emma         Gibson, artistic director.

About 'a Play, a Pie and a Pint'
'a Play, a Pie, and a Pint' is based on the successful performance phenomena from the UK. The project launched at The Oran Mor Theatre space in Glasgow under the artistic directorship of David Maclennan 7 years ago and they have now produced over 200 plays. The premise is simple: plays are performed at a non-traditional time (6.30pm) on days when most other theaters are often dark (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) alongside a pie (slice of pizza) and a drink of choice.

Tickets: $15 (includes a beverage and a slice of pizza)
