The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts kicks off the 2017-18 season with internationally-acclaimed superstars in rock, dance, and comedy, returning favorites, the best of touring Broadway, and more! Tickets for a select number of 2017-18 performances listed below go on sale July 14, with many performances already on sale.

"We are gearing up for a very exciting season on our Kimmel Center Campus," said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. "As the region's most impactful performing arts destination, we strive to bring the best and most diverse programming to our audiences - some back by popular demand, and many that offer an opportunity for arts lovers to try something new."

Listed below are the early season events for which tickets will be available beginning on July 14 to the general public. Kimmel Center members receive early access to these shows as well as details about newly announced presentations across the Kimmel Center Campus. Now in the sixth decade of his professional life, Herbie Hancock remains where he has always been: at the forefront of world culture, technology, business, and music. In addition to being recognized as a legendary pianist and composer, Herbie Hancock has been an integral part of every popular music movement since the 1960s. In honor of his work, Hancock was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in February 2016. Hancock is currently in the studio at work on a new album.

One of the most beloved and celebrated singers of our time, Renée Fleming's sumptuous voice, consummate artistry, and compelling stage presence completely captivates audiences. Her renowned career has earned her the title of "the people's diva," the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Solo, and a National Medal of the Arts, awarded by President Obama at a White House ceremony in 2013. In recent years, she has hosted a wide variety of television and radio broadcasts, including the Metropolitan Opera's Live in HD series for movie theaters and television and Live From Lincoln Center on PBS. This is her Verizon Hall debut.

Lila will be touring on behalf of her most recent album, Balas y Chocolate, which went platinum in Mexico.

Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera will return to Philadelphia as part of a brand new North American Tour! Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is "bigger and better than ever before" and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and new staging by director Laurence Connor. The production, overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, boasts many exciting special effects including the show's legendary chandelier. The beloved story and thrilling score - with songs like "Music of the Night," "All I Ask Of You," and "Masquerade" - will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this The Phantom of the Opera one of the largest productions now on tour.

Led by world-renowned trumpet player and educator Terell Stafford, Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia is quickly becoming the face of Philadelphia jazz, establishing the city as a national and international destination for music lovers. They return to the Kimmel Center with a program celebrating the music of Thelonious Monk, with special guest pianists Orrin Evans and Eric Reed.
