A brand new, family-friendly musical comes to the stage at Upper Darby Performing Arts Center on November 4 at 7:30 pm. The one-hour musical, Skippyjon Jones Snow What, is based on the book by Delaware County resident and NY Times bestselling author, Judith Schachner. The delightful show is performed by the professional and distinguished touring company, Theatreworks USA, and features the Siamese cat who thinks he's a Chihuahua made famous in the book series.
Tickets are $8 - $11 and are available online at www.udpac.org or at the box office, 610.622.1189. The show is appropriate for children ages 4 and up.

Skippyjon Jones Snow What is a twist on the classic fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. While his sisters listen to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Skippy heads off for the REAL adventure awaiting him in his closet. There, as his alter ego Skippito Friskito, and with the help of his friends the Seven Chimichangos, Skippyjon must rescue the beautiful princess Nieve Que? (Snow What), battle the evil dragon and defeat the Bruja.

After a brief New York City-area tour in spring 2015, Skippyjon Jones Snow What had its world-premiere at the Lucile Lortel Theatre in New York City in summer 2015. The show began its national tour in fall 2015.
Theatreworks USA is America's largest and most prolific professional not-for-profit theatre for young and family audiences. The national touring company has a notable history of not only providing young audiences with their first taste of the performing arts, but also giving young actors, writers, directors, and designers an early opportunity to work in this field.
A Swarthmore, PA resident, Judy Schachner is the NY Times bestselling author and illustrator of over 23 books for children including Bits & Pieces, the Skippyjon Jones series, Yo Vikings, The Grannyman and Willy and May. She has won many awards including the first E. B. White Read Aloud Award.
The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors and Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.
