This evening, October 22nd, a celebration of the Philadelphia theater community will be held at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. As many of you may know, this is event is being organized by a coalition of artistic and executive leaders and volunteers in the community who have organized in light of the impending closure of the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia.
The celebration includes presentation of the winners of Philadelphia's three most prestigious theater awards: the F. Otto Haas Award for Emerging Theatre Artist, the Brown Martin Philadelphia Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The awards ceremony at the Perelman Theater will feature special performances by 11th Hour Theatre Co, the Bearded Ladies and other Philadelphia theatre companies and artists to be announced.
Your ticket will gain you entrance to the exclusive celebratory reception in Commonwealth Plaza, the grand interior plaza of the Kimmel Center, following the awards ceremony. The reception will include light hors d'ouevres and a cash bar -- but this bash is really about coming together to celebrate the bright present and promising future of the Philadelphia theater community.
Tickets may be purchased through the Kimmel Center box office.
