Theatre Horizon, a professional theatre company located in the greater Philadelphia region, has announced that KC MacMillan will serve as Guest Artistic Director during the company's 2017-18 season featuring stories of "Women Who Dare." Current Artistic Director Erin Reilly is taking a maternity-related sabbatical.
"Under KC's artistic leadership, Theatre Horizon will bring to the stage three entertaining and provocative comedies, all high-energy performances that make a night out at Theatre Horizon a truly fun night for neighbors and friends," said Reilly. "This interim change in artistic leadership also reaffirms Theatre Horizon's continued commitment to excellence in the Philadelphia theatre community."
Ms. MacMillan has directed more than 35 productions in the Philadelphia region, including several shows for Theatre Horizon, such as Fully Committed, How I Learned to Drive, and I Am My Own Wife (Barrymore winner, The Virginia Brown Martin Philadelphia Award & nominations for Direction & Outstanding Production). This season, she will be directing Lauren Gundrson's The Revolutionists with the company.

Theatre Horizon's 2017-2018 season is a jubilant celebration of "Women Who Dare," an entire year of shows around strong heroines. The company will present three productions that highlight female protagonists and female heroines, while continuing their ongoing commitment to female writers, directors, designers, and leaders. Productions include 2.5 Minute Ride by Lisa Kron, directed by Elaina Di Monaco (October 2017), The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson,?directed by KC MacMillan (February 2018), and Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice and Wayne Barker, directed by Matthew Decker. Other Philadelphia credits include InterAct Theatre, Shakespeare in Clark Park, Flashpoint, Inis Nua, and Commonwealth Classic Theatre. In 2015, KC was named one of Billy Penn's Who's Next: 16 Young Philadelphians Shaping the Arts Scene. In addition to her guest stint as Co-Artistic Director at Theatre Horizon, KC recently became the Producing Artistic Director of Tiny Dynamite, home of the popular theater project A Play, A Pie, and a Pint.
