To celebrate the holiday season, Theatre Harrisburg presents MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, a recreation of the famous 1948 Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the classic movie favorite of the same name. Just like the original broadcast, this production will be presented in period costumes with live sound effects, seasonal music and even vintage commercials. Complimentary seasonal refreshments will also be provided, and the lobby will be decorated to simulate a 1940s New York City Street scene complete with Macy's holiday windows.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is the touching story of a nice old gentleman, Kris Kringle, who claims he is Santa Claus. When he is declared insane, a young attorney decides to defend him in court and prove that he is indeed the real thing. The ensuing trial puts the beliefs of a skeptical mother and her six year-old daughter to the test, but it will take a miracle for Kris to win. The 1947 film won three Academy Awards and starred Maureen O'Hara, John Payne, Edmund Gwenn, Gene Lockhart, William Frawley and a very young Natalie Wood. The radio broadcast, with almost all of the original stars, was originally presented December 20, 1948.

Theatre Harrisburg's production of MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET stars Kelli Eberlein, Lewis Silverman, Tessa Eberlein, Benjamin Roberts, Sean McCormack, Joseph Carr, Trish Baillie, Brenda Eppley, Michael Greenwald, Jay Mifflouf and Marcie Warner. The live sound effects will be designed and performed by Tamara Stevens, and the entire production is under the direction of David Olmsted.
