Poor Mortimer Brewster, the drama-hating theatre critic. He has to deal with his homicidal aunts, his murderous brother who has recently undergone plastic surgery (and now looks like Boris Karloff), his newly betrothed fiancé, the local police department and, of course, his other brother who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt - the "locks" for the Panama Canal he digs in the basement are just the right size for the sisters' victims. It's a fast-paced, laugh-filled show that is considered one of the best of its genre and remains as funny today as the day it premiered. Cary Grant starred in the very successful screen version.

Theatre Harrisburg's production of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE stars Marcie Warner and Kathy Luft as the elderly sisters Martha & Abby Brewster, Benjamin Roberts as Mortimer Brewster, Jay Purdy as Teddy Brewster, Sean McCormack as Jonathan Brewster, Sean Hackman as Dr. Einstein, Whitney Tatum as Elaine Harper and Jay Miffoluf as The Rev. Dr. Harper. Other cast members include Derek Coates, Malcolm Cohen, Ben Forer and Kerry Mowery. The entire production is under the direction of Thomas G. Hostetter, artistic director emeritus of Theatre Harrisburg.
