The Philadelphia region's exciting young performing group - the Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars - presents "A Holiday Spectacular!," a Broadway-style musical showcase of song and dance numbers. An energized and lively performance, audience members of all ages will be certain to get into the holiday spirit and create wonderful memories.

Two performances take place on December 8 at 7:30 pm and December 9 at 2:00 pm at Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA. The 90-minute production is ideal for children ages four and up.

Tickets are affordably priced at $9 - $13 and may be purchased by calling the box office at 610.622.1189 or by visiting www.udpac.org. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Shooting Stars outreach program, entertaining elderly throughout the region.

The Shooting Stars' Holiday Spectacular showcases the talented teen singers and dancers - selected by audition from the renowned Upper Darby Summer Stage program - performing seasonal favorites with toe-tapping fun including, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Jingle Bell Rock," "Rudolf, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Do You Hear What I Hear?," "Carol of the Bells," "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," a tribute to "The Polar Express," "Sparklejollytwinklejingley" from "Elf," and many, many more! Complete with sparkling costumes and a festive set, the talented members of the ensemble share Christmas memories that will ring true for everyone in the audience.

"It is an absolute joy to work with this outstanding group of young performers. Not only do they represent some of the best youth talent in our area, but their energy and passion for performing is infectious," said Kevin Dietzler, Director. "There is something for everyone in this show, and it is a perfect way for families to create special memories for years to come."

Recently featured on TV performing in the 6ABC Thanksgiving Day parade, the 34 Shooting Stars members from Upper Darby Summer Stage are ambassadors of the program all year long. Selected by audition, the members rehearse for countless hours and participate for the pure joy of performing.

In addition to performances at Walt Disney World, Delaware County's Rose Tree Park Summer Festival, and "Hairspray Live" at the Kimmel Center, the Shooting Stars take their shows on the road to entertain the elderly throughout the Delaware Valley.

The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors and Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.
