The Philadelphia Orchestra Association elected three new members to its Board of Directors at its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.
Three area business and community leaders joined the Board: John A. Affleck, vice president of Stratton Monthly Dividend REIT Shares and Stratton Small-Cap Value Fund, of Wyndmoor, PA; David Girard-diCarlo, 2008-09 U.S. Ambassador to Austria, of Philadelphia, PA; and John Saler, chair of Government and Public Affairs Practice Group at Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP, of Philadelphia, PA.
Twenty directors were re-elected for three-year terms. They are Bernard E. Anderson of Wayne, PA; Martin Heckscher of Philadelphia, PA; Stacy Maria Dutton of Villanova, PA; Harry R. Halloran, Jr., of Villanova, PA; Beverly A. Harper of Philadelphia, PA; W. Anthony Hitschler of Villanova, PA; David F. Hoffman of Villanova, PA; Joseph Jacovini of Philadelphia, PA; J. William Mills III of Philadelphia, PA; Charles P. Pizzi of Philadelphia, PA; Lorraine Popowich of Philadelphia, PA; Alan L. Reed of Villanova, PA; Robert H. Rock of Gladwyne, PA; George M. Ross of Bryn Mawr, PA; Christa B. Schmidt of Newtown Square, PA; David F. Simon of Gwynedd Valley, PA; Christine Nordstrom Stainton of Philadelphia, PA; Paul Thompson III of Berwyn, PA; and Charles K. Valutas of Newtown Square, PA.
Board Chairman Richard B. Worley recognized the work of the following directors who are rotating off the Board: David B. Ford, Hugh C. Long II, and Debra A. Sandler.
