The Lehigh Valley's Premier Improv Comedy Troupe Is Now at Civic Theatre of Allentown

Civic Theatre of Allentown is happy to be hosting The Associated Mess, the Lehigh Valley's premier improv comedy troupe, every other Saturday at 10pm in Civic's Theatre514! While The Associated Mess has already performed twice at Civic, they start the regular performances as of this Saturday, September 19th. Tickets for these shows are $10 gerenal/$7 with college ID and available at the door.

Originally formed five years ago, The Associated Mess was the brainchild of Allentown-based Equity Actor Joshua Neth, now a Civic Theatre School teacher who played The Beast in Civic's 2008 production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The group was put on hiatus when Neth went on tour, but reformed earlier this year with the help of Bethlehem-based stand-up comedian (and Civic Theatre Marketing Coordinator) Ryan Hill.

Since then, the troupe has fast become one of the Valley's most entertaining options for a night out, regularly playing to capacity crowds. Neth acts in the majority of the shows, with Hill hosting, alongside a rotating cast of three local actors chosen from the 15 who make up the Associated Mess, many of whom are veterans of Civic productions.

The lineup for the September 19th show is: Matt Candio (Allentown), Jen Kurtz (Emmaus), Joshua Neth (Allentown), Shawn Salevsky (Breinigsville) and host Ryan Hill (Bethlehem), all of whom have acted in at least one Civic production in the past.

"Civic Theatre has a rich tradition of being a place where the Lehigh Valley's best actors and actresses can express themselves," says Civic Managing Director Arlene Daily, "bringing in the Associated Mess is yet another way in which we can keep that going, while adding a whole new - and hilarious - dimension to it!"

The Associated Mess will perform every other Saturday night at 10pm in Civic's Theatre514. Future dates include October 3rd, 17th and 31st, November 14th and 28th and December 12th, but are subject to change. Please check Civic's website, civictheatre.com, for more information. Tickets, available at the door, are $10/$7 with college ID. Doors will open at 9:30. These shows are recommended for mature audiences, and no one under the age of 18 will be allowed in without a parent or guardian.
