The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble, a Philadelphia-based ensemble that centers the work of women in tap through performance, education, and community outreach, will return to the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts to present their Spring Concert Series on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The ensemble will perform innovative and original tap choreography by several accomplished choreographers, including a world premiere by Star Dixon.

"We're so pleased to return to the Annenberg's Harold Prince Theatre for the second year running," says Artistic Director Tamera Dallam. "We have a diverse program lined up for this year's Spring Concert Series, and I'm particularly excited to present a world premiere by guest artist Star Dixon who is pushing the envelope in rhythm and sound."

The concert will feature Dixon's "Fantasy" set to the tune by Earth, Wind, and Fire. A Chicago native, Dixon is assistant director, choreographer, and original principal dancer of renowned tap company, MADD Rhythms, and has taught at the most distinguished tap festivals in the country. She has performed nationally as a guest with Dorrance Dance and Savion Glover's All Funk'd Up, and internationally in Poland, Japan, and Brazil.

"Sometimes a song can make all of your worries go away in that moment," Dixon said. "From a very young age, 'Fantasy' has done that for me. With the climate of the world right now, I hope this piece is able to offer some sort of release for four minutes."

Additional premieres will include the first works by new Artistic Director Tamera Dallam, a duet by Managing Director Katie Budris, and two mainstage premieres by company founder Kat Echevarría Richter. The Lady Hoofers will also perform original choreography from past guest artists, including Michael J. Love and Dolores Sanchez.

The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble is composed of 25 professional and pre-professional tap dancers, including the group's First Company and Apprentice dancers. For the first time, members of the company's Youth Ensemble will also present a piece in the Spring Concert
