This Valentine's Day, Philadelphia is invited to a night of free entertainment and socializing with #KimmelMingle, the Kimmel Center's brand new community-building experience for anyone looking to meet someone new or enjoy a night out with friends. #KimmelMingle will launch Wednesday, February 14 at 9 p.m. in conjunction with the sixth anniversary of Sittin' In - the Kimmel Center's popular (and free) monthly concert series - which will feature the lineup of returning favorites including Ursula Rucker; Jacqueline Constance; Luke Carlos O'Reilly; and more.
Attendees are invited to put down their phones and take a break from their usual routines! Come early to grab a cocktail and food from the bar. Single? The Kimmel Center will be your wingman! In a relationship? This date night will have it all: ambiance, cocktails, and live music.
In addition to celebrating six years of Sittin' In, the Kimmel Center is also celebrating the birthday of Sittin' In founder, curator, and its Artistic Advisor for Jazz Anthony Tidd. The special sixth anniversary concert and #KimmelMingle lineup features some of Sittin' In's favorite regulars, including: poet extraordinaire Ursula Rucker; vocal powerhouse Lady Alma; one woman band Jacqueline Constance; Range da Messenger; Chartel Findlater; Lee Mo; Kimmel Center 2017-18 Jazz Resident Luke Carlos O'Reilly; Tim Motzer; Mario Crew; and of course Anthony Tidd. Who knows who else might sit in for this fun event.
The evening will bring all of these great performers together for what can only be described as a huge jam session/party extravaganza, reminiscent of Wilhelmina's, Back 2 Basics, and Black Lilly.
