"Christmas Once Upon A Time"
The Spirit of an American Christmas
PBS AFFILIATE WVIA - CHANNEL 44
EXCLUSIVE BROADCAST
The band's newest stage show was filmed before a live audience at Williamsport's historic Community Arts Center for broadcast in HD. The one-hour holiday show features twelve new songs for Christmas - all original compositions from the Susquehanna Valley-based band. The broadcast presents music from their popular full-length Christmas album of the same name. Christmas Once Upon A Time takes viewers on a journey of popular musical styles that evoke all of the joys and passions, wonders and memories, of Christmas.
The special was inspired by the band's original Worldwide Number One hit, "Christmas Once Upon A Time." The song rose to become the Number One Christmas Song In The World for 44 weeks on MP3.com following its earlier release as a single - and inspired the band's popular YouTube Christmas video of the same.
"We're delighted to be premiering on PBS affiliate WVIA-TV," says Rick Buck, lead guitarist and founding band member, "because our home is right here in Northeast Pennsylvania."
Their holiday special comes wrapped, packaged, and presented for television featuring the insightful writing, crisp instrumental performance, and soaring 6-part vocal harmonies of The Front Porch Country Band-along with their trademark energy and musicianship for which they're known worldwide. Viewers will be moved by the band's performances expressing unabashed reverence for the highest meaning of Christmas combined with wonder for the magic of the season-along with an extra touch of playfulness thrown in, just for good fun.
"Our songs are inspired by the Pennsylvania Christmas's we've all grown up with," says Johnny Jolin, one of the band's three lead singers. "Pennsylvania is our home. We love taking our shows to fans around the world - but it's special for us to bring it back home to Pennsylvania, where it all began."
Since forming in 2001, the popular globe-trotting band has toured the world from their base in the Susquehanna Valley, topped the worldwide country charts of the world's largest internet music subscriber system for more than a year with over a million song plays, opened for country music legend
Randy Travis, been featured artists on flagship WSM Radio - Nashville's "Air Castle Of The South" - all while releasing four full albums of original songs. Their online videos have been worldwide hits. Among their most notable achievements has been The World China Tour, the band's 21,000 mile showcase where they headlined for weeks to standing ovations on the world's greatest stages. They recently released their 2-Disc Album of the 18 original songs performed during their world tour.
