The Centre Theatre and Iron Age Theatre Present Grow The Arts Fundraiser, 10/14

The Centre Theater and Iron Age Theatre, professional theater companies at the Montgomery County Cultural Center, will hold a fundraiser on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 6:30 - 9:30 PM in our building at 208 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA 19401.

The fundraiser will have live music, theater performances, food and wine on all four floors of the Montgomery County Cultural Center. Tickets are $50 per person.

The Centre Theater and Iron Age Theatre are celebrating the beginning of our 16th year of theater and arts education in Downtown Norristown. Awards will be presented to Hank Cisco, Marilyn Steinbright and Continental Bank for their support of the Centre Theater and Iron Age Theatre. Service awards will be given to Becky Ellis, Lauren Joseph and Ben Levan for their outstanding work in the theater.

There will be an amazing array of items for Silent Auction. Plans for our upcoming renovations will be on display. Information on the expansion of the theater will be available. Come see how the arts will grow in Norristown.The Times Herald is one of the sponsors of the event. Additional sponsors are welcome.

The Centre Theater at the Montgomery County Cultural Center, located in downtown Norristown, provides affordable, quality professional theater and arts education. By providing quality programs, we are bringing the arts to our community as well as to communities in the Greater Delaware Valley area.

For more than 15 years, the Centre Theater and Iron Age Theatre have presented challenging, well-crafted, thoughtful theater. The Centre Theater and Iron Age Theatre have been called "Norristown's Theatrical Treasure" by Mark Cofta of The Philadelphia City Paper. We have been nominated for Barrymore awards for both Terra Nova and The Elephant Man.

Mark Cofta wrote that "Iron Age Theatre keeps defying the odds, producing quality plays with loving care." - Main Line Ticket. Jim McCaffrey wrote that "Iron Age Theatre has been a blood-and-guts company fighting to stage good stories that they find entertaining, important and thought-provoking." - The Evening Bulletin

The Montgomery County Cultural Center is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to bringing the arts to a broad audience, educating young people in an appreciation of the arts and the artistic spirit in themselves and revitalizing the Montgomery County region.

Our 75 seat professional theatre space, The Centre Theater, produces a three show main stage season with smaller studio works. The theater is located on the 4th floor of our building, with elevator access.
