The Arden Theatre presents Hans Christian Anderson's, THE FLEA AND THE PROFESSOR, now through June 12th.  The play tells the story of a young professor who loses everything in the world but the flea who lives in his vest and that turns out to be plenty. He and the flea become the best of friends, start a circus act, and set off to tour the world. Together they must overcome shipwrecks, cannibals, and tickling. Adapted from the last story by the author of The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and The Emperor's New Clothes, this new musical odyssey celebrates the excitement of the unknown.

According to Philly.com, The Arden commissioned young playwright JorDan Harrison, whose "Kid Simple" was recently produced by Azuka Theatre as well as Barrymore-winning director Anne Kauffman, who helmed Wilma Theater's Becky Shaw. They gathered talent from both Broadway and Broad Street, including Avenue Q's Rob McClure, a hometown boy, as the Professor and Philly favorite Scott Greer as the Flea and employed Richard Gray, a composer and lyricist well-regarded for his work with the Seattle Children's Theatre.

THE FLEA AND THE PROFESSOR is now on stage through June 12 at the Arden Theatre, 40 N. Second St. Tickets are $30 - 32 for Adults, $20 - 22 for Teens and $16 - 18 for kids.  Groups of 20 or more may purchase tickets for $12 - 16.  For further information, call 215-922-1122 or visit: www.ardentheatre.org
