The State Theatre Center for the Arts to receive the Arts Community of Easton (ACE) Patron of the Year Award ACE Annual Arts Awards to be held December 6th

The Arts Community of Easton (ACE) will present their Annual Arts Awards Dinner on December 6th at 6 PM in the historic Bank Street Annex, 316 Northampton Street, Easton.

Tickets are available at Connexions Gallery, 213 Northampton St., Easton (610 250 7627) for $30. Proceeds from the dinner will go directly to the ACE Scholarship Fund.

The Annual Arts Awards were begun as a means to recognize contributions that have been made to the community by members of ACE that bring an awareness of the value of art as a means for positive growth and change to the community of Easton and the surrounding area. Over the past several years, many have been honored for their outreach, support and individual contributions

The Patron of the Year award has been reserved for individuals or organizations that have worked quietly to promote and support the Mission Statement of ACE. This year's recipient is the State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton. Through their partnership with ACE, the State Theatre's Alvin H. Butz Gallery has been home to several ACE group shows and Solo Exhibitions throughout the past several years. In addition to the Annual FREDDY Photography exhibition, patrons of the State Theatre have been introduced to the many creative voices and spirits which comprise the membership of ACE. During intermissions, audience members have the opportunity to leisurely peruse and contemplate the works on display. In addition, ACE's partnership with the State Theatre has enabled the Arts Community of Easton to bring at least one traveling exhibition to the area. Curated by Wei Jane Chir, the Falun Gong exhibition at the State Theatre allowed artists whose voices have been repressed in their own country to share their voice and spirit with those in and visiting the city of Easton. Such an opportunity would not have been possible without the spirit of partnership and a love of the arts being alive within the State Theatre.

Other recipients being honored this year are Kim Robertson as Artist of the Year award, Easton HS Senior Devin Feely as recipient of the Arts Community of Easton's Visual Arts Scholarship, Pamalee La Duca as Volunteer of the Year, and a Special Lifetime Achievement Award to Wally Barnett of Gallery 31 in Glen Gardner New Jersey.

The recipient of a special President's Award will be announced at the dinner.
