Star of the Day Event Productions announces the cast for their upcoming Broadway Kids Cabaret - a benefit to raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer. This is the second pediatric cancer benefit the company has held. This year, the small entertainment company is partnering with St. John's UCC in Emmaus, PA to produce a Broadway style cabaret filled with inspirational songs and uplifting tunes to help raise money for local pediatric cancer organizations in the Lehigh Valley.
Featured singers and dancers in the show are local youth performers: Rachel Knappenberger , Ashlee Galea, Paige Horvath, Hunter Jones, Maggie Toner, Francesca Rhoads, Mary Calder, Caitlin Noone, and Abigail Garrigan. Rounding out the cast are some of the company's adults Charles Weigold III, Sebastian Paff, Lindsey Hresko, Marissa Brewer, and Kirsten Almeida.
Almeida, the company's founder, has been producing cabarets throughout the Lehigh Valley since 2011. She is also an active fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley and the National Melanoma Foundation. Ms. Almeida has dedicated a portion of her company's mission to raising money for cancer-related causes after the death of her close friend in 2011. Subsequently, she founded the company in memory of her friend, Bethany Pacheco Brum, who died from advanced melanoma.
The company will perform Broadway Kids Cabaret tonight, October 23 at 7pm, Saturday, October 24 at 7pm, and Sunday, October 24 at 2pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 18. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketor.com/staroftheday.org , by calling the box office at 484-809-9228, or at the door the day of. 50% of every ticket sold is donated to pediatric cancer. There will also be a raffle and refreshments for purchase during the show.
