Philadelphia sports fans have a real treat coming up at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center. Avid listeners of sports radio in the region will not want to miss this intimate evening with legendary sports journalist Ray Didinger on Wednesday, September 7th. Didinger is coming to West Chester to talk about his latest book, "Finished Business: My Fifty Years of Headlines, Heroes and Heartaches."

The evening begins with a VIP reception in the Univest Cabaret at Uptown! at 6PM, and at 7PM audiences will gather in the A. Roy Smith Mainstage for a personal presentation from Didinger and interview by Glen Macnow - his WIP radio partner for 21 years. The evening will close with an audience Q&A. VIP tickets including the reception and an autographed copy of the book are $120 and standard tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is located at 226 N. High Street. For more information and tickets to this exclusive Special Event visit https://uptownwestchester.org.

This very special evening will look back at Didinger's unique career covering the Philadelphia sports scene. Didinger is the only print journalist to cover the Flyers' Stanley Cup Championships, the Phillies 1980 World Series Championship, the 76ers Championship in 1983-84 and the now-legendary Philadelphia Eagles victory in Super Bowl 52 over the New England Patriots. He was there for every game and every parade.

Audiences can enjoy this unique evening with one of two options. The VIP Package includes a signed copy of "Finished Business: My Fifty Years of Headlines, Heroes and Heartaches" and a private wine and cheese reception and photo opp in the Univest Cabaret at Uptown! from 6-6:45PM. Standard tickets include the main event which starts at 7PM on the Mainstage. Signed copies of "Finished Business: My Fifty Years of Headlines, Heroes and Heartaches" will be available in the lobby at Mac's Foxhole Lounge for $30 that evening.

Ray Didinger needs no introduction to Philadelphia sports fans. Recently retired after a distinguished 53-year career in sports media, Didinger was the first print journalist inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame and as a columnist for the Philadelphia Bulletin and Philadelphia Daily News, he was named Pennsylvania Sportswriter of the Year five times. In 1995, he won the Dick McCann Award for long and distinguished reporting on pro football and his name was added to the writer's honor roll at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also won six Emmy Awards as a writer and producer for NFL Films.

Didinger has authored or coauthored 12 books including best sellers "Finished Business: My Fifty Years of Headlines, Heroes and Heartaches," the "Eagles Encyclopedia, Champions Edition" and "One Last Read, The Collected Works of the World's Slowest Sportswriter." His play "Tommy and Me," which tells the story of his friendship with Eagles Hall of Famer Tommy McDonald, was first produced by Theatre Exile in Philadelphia in 2016.

Didinger was a talk show host on 94 WIP Sports Radio and a football analyst for NBC Sports Philadelphia for more than 25 years.
