Take a musical journey back to your youth, or even before you were born, with the songs that speak to all of our hearts and shine through all of our memories. Slim Bob Slim--the ukulele-playing vaudevillian alter ego of Philadelphia actor, writer, and director Seth Reichgott--takes you on a journey through the great old-timey music we all know and love. Featuring such favorites as "Take On Me," "Come On Eileen," "Walking On Sunshine," and many more. STAND BACK I'M GONNA UKE is a concert, an evening of storytelling, and a chance to tap your feet and sing along.
Join Slim Bob Slim at the Bar Upstairs at Plays and Players, 1714 Delancey Place in Philadelphia, on June 24, 28, and 29 at 8pm. STAND BACK I'M GONNA UKE is presented as part of the 2013 SoLow Festival (solowfestival.blogspot.com).
Seth Reichgott has worked at the Wilma Theater, Interact, Act II Playhouse, the Lantern Theatre, Cape May Stage, and the Arden, among many others. He has twice been a co-recipient of the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Ensemble, and was nominated for a 2010 Helen Hayes award for Outstanding Actor. His monthly interview show, Backstage/Onstage, can be heard on Brandywineradio.com, and he is a regular contributor to Time Out with Phillip Silverstone on WWDB AM860. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre.
The SoLow Festival is dedicated to new, experimental work focusing on solo performance with low maintenance and low stress. SoLow was created by Philadelphia performance artists Thomas Choinacky and Amanda Grove. Seeking a way to present their own solo work with minimal expense, they developed the idea to get other people involved. Now in its fourth year, SoLow is excited to experiment with the theme of Loners and Rebels.
Tickets to STAND BACK I'M GONNA UKE are available at the door for a suggested donation of $10. For information and reservations, contact slimbobslim@gmail.com.
