Currently performing in Philadelphia for a holiday engagement, cast members from the international percussion sensation, STOMP, will lend their expertise to students from the Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School, along with STOMP fans, theater-goers, and the general public inside the Kimmel Center for a special lesson on the special technique of performing the famous 'Hands and Feet' number from the show.
The cast is requesting that anyone who would like to participate in the event, bring a canned good for donation to Philabundance, the benefactor of the shows' Stomp Out Hunger' campaign. Dunkin' Donuts will also be giving out free samples for all 'Stompers' at the front entrance of the building.
It all takes place at the Kimmel Center Plaza, Dec. 26 at 12:15 p.m. (doors open at noon).
Now in its 20th year, STOMP performers make rhythmic music by 'playing' everything from supermarket carts, plumbing fixtures and kitchen sinks...to trash can lids, hubcaps and paint cans! STOMP continues at the Merriam Theater through Tuesday, Dec. 30.
