SUMMER OF '42, featuring a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster, is now playing at Bucks County Playhouse through August 11. Check out a first look at the production, and go behind the scenes with Foster below!

Summer of '42 also features music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum (Vanities), and is based upon the novel and screenplay by Herman Raucher, and directed by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Little Shop of Horrors) with choreography by Lorin Latarro. The cast will feature Bailey Buntain (ABC Family's "Bunheads") as Aggie, Joey Dippel as Benjie, Alyssa Gagarin as Miriam, F. Michael Haynie as Oscy, Betsy Hogg as Gloria, Ben Mayne as Pete, Chris McCarrell as Hermie, Chelsea Packard as Dorothy, and William Youmans as Mr. Sanders/Walter Winchel.

The creative team also includes Paul Masse (Music Director), Wilson Chin and David Arsenault (Scenic Design), Nicole V. Moody (Costume Design), Travis McHale (Lighting Design) and Ed Chapman (Sound Design).

"Summer of '42 was a seminal piece of literature and filmmaking, and we are glad to be bringing this story to the stage with the help of top-class theater artists," saidJed Bernstein. "During the actual summer of 1942, America had just joined the Allied Forces in World War II. With this production we are proud to announce an initiative honoring veterans who have served in our country."

For each of the 22 performances of Summer of '42, the Bucks County Playhouse will honor a military veteran. To nominate a veteran in your life, please fill out the nomination form found on the BCP website (http://www.bcptheater.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Veteran-Nomination-Form-2.pdf. All selected veterans will receive two complimentary tickets to the performance in which they will be honored and will receive a military discount code for their friends and family to join. Nominees who have had active duty service during any time period are eligible.
